Faye E. Groff, 91, formerly of West Lampeter Twp., passed away Thursday afternoon, April 27, 2017 at The Glen at Willow Valley. She and her husband, Ben moved to Willow Valley in 2003. Born in Lancaster on March 27, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Charles M. and Mary Weber Deiter. She married on September 9, 1950 to Benjamin B. Groff. Ben passed away on May 8, 2004.

Faye graduated from J.P. McCaskey in 1944. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson as a registered nurse. She served for 6 months at Black Foot Indian Reservation in Oregon as part of her nursing training. She was supervisor of the infants formula room at Lancaster General Hospital. As her daughter Sherry's physical condition declined she began working at Lampeter-Strasburg School District in food service so she could spend more time with her. She retired from the school district in 1985.

Faye was a member of Christ UM Church where she sang in the choir and played piano. She enjoyed music, playing the piano, soap operas and romance novels. She was an excellent cook, especially her pot pie. She and her husband loved to travel.

Faye is survived by her son, David L., husband of Vicki Groff of Washington Boro; her daughter, Sherry L. Groff of East Petersburg; grandsons, Tyler C. Groff, fiancée of Stephanie Kreider of Columbia and Adam D. Groff, fiancée of Aubrey Snyder of Elymira, NY; granddaughter, Adrienne F. Groff of Lititz and her sister, Joanne wife of Richard Koch of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by her brother, C. Daniel Deiter.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Faye's Memorial Service on Monday, May 22, 2017 at 3PM from the Christ UM Church, 935 E. Walnut Street, Lancaster. Friends will be received from 2-3PM at the church prior to the service. Interment will be held in the Willow Street Mennonite Cemetery. Please omit flowers, memorial remembrances may be made in Faye's memory to Hospice & Community Care or Friendship Community Homes, 1149 E. Oregon Road, Lititz, PA 17543.
