Kenneth D. Downie, 66 of Marticville passed away Tuesday morning, October 24, 2017 at Conestoga View. Born on January 31, 1951 in Bossier, LA he was the son of the late Richard and Genevieve May Downie. He was the step son of Emma Downie who survives. Ken was married on July 26, 2003 to Sandra L. Fryberger Downie.

Ken served in the United States Army Reserves. He was a certified HVAC mechanic and certified electrician. He worked for Clark Mechanical. Ken belonged to the Lancaster County CB Radio Club. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, camping and rescuing injured wild animals.

In addition to his wife, Sandy and his step mother, Ken is survived by his step children, Bonnie K. Fryberger of Pequea, Ray E. Fryberger of Fort Mill, SC, and Howard E. Chapman of Pequea. He will be missed by 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Ken is also survived by his sisters, Janet and Kathy, both of Florida.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Ken's funeral service on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 11AM from the Melanie B. Scheid Funeral Directors & Cremation Services, The Gundel Chapel, 3225 Main Street, Conestoga, PA. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 10-11AM. Private interment will be held in Delaware.
