Thelma L. Boger, 96, of Cornwall, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Lebanon Wellspan Good Samaritan Hospital. She was the wife of the late Roger L. Boger whom she had married January 24, 1942. Thelma was born in Lebanon on September 16, 1921, daughter of the late Horace L. and Amelia S. Albert Boyer.
She was a graduate of Lebanon High School Class of 1939 and Lebanon Business College in 1941. Thelma retired in 1983 as office manager and bookkeeper from Roy E. Miller, Inc. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Lebanon, Lebanon Chapter #115 Order of Eastern Star, the former Lebanon Court #131 Order of Amaranth and served 12 years for Central PA Past Officers Association Order of Amaranth, former Lebanon White Shrine #56, past Mother Advisor Lebanon Rainbow Assembly for Girls and Grand Cross of Colors, Ladies Auxiliary of Knights Templar Commandary, Grandettes Quittapahilla Forest #25, received Women of the Year in 1979 as a member of Lebanon Valley Chapter American Business Women Association, charter member of Cleona Women's Club, member of Senior Center of Lebanon Valley and was a life member Tall Cedars of Lebanon National Charitable Objectives.
Thelma is survived by her son, David L. Boger of Jonestown, her daughter, Rhonda S. Slaten of Lebanon, granddaughters, Amy J. Boger of Ono, Sherine S. Karpew, great grandchildren, Peter Karpew of Cincinnati, OH, Gabrielle Shifflet of Jonestown, Juddson Erdman of Annville, Owen and Amelia Sidauga of Ono.
Private family services will be held with interment in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Thelma's memory may be made to Cornwall Manor Benevolent Fund, P.O. Box 125, Cornwall, PA 17016.
