Raymond M. Matula, 82, of Lebanon (Cornwall), passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the Lebanon Wellspan Good Samaritan Hospital. He was the husband of Patricia Kreiser Matula with whom he celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary in May. Ray was born in Lebanon on December 20, 1934, son of Raymond and Pauline Sorcsek Matula.
Raymond was a 1952 graduate of Lebanon High School. He was a printer working in several printing companies, retiring as a supervisor. He loved music and was an awesome upright bass player, playing professionally. In addition to his wife, Pat, Ray is survived by children Pam, wife of Dave Keim of Lebanon, Sharon, wife of Paul Zechman of Lebanon, Debbie, wife of Tom Jackson of Lebanon, Steve Matula of Lititz, Elizabeth, wife of Bob Werth of Lebanon, Anthony Matula of Lebanon, several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Joseph Matula and sisters Colleen Edris and Joan Blauch.
Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution in Ray's memory may be made to Central PA Friends of Jazz, 5721 Jonestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17112 or the American Cancer Society.
