Paul W. Heist, 67, formerly of Reading, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. Paul was born in Monte Vista, CO on August 22, 1950, son of Ray A. Heist of Shillington and the late Lorraine M. Heller Heist.
Paul was a 1968 graduate of West Reading High School and a Veteran of the US Air Force. He was a retired Track Technician at Maple Grove Raceway. He was an artist working with oils, water color, pencil and other materials. He enjoyed fishing, auto racing and New York City.
In addition to his Father, Paul is survived by his twin brother Allen of Phoenixville, sister, Mary of Exton, brother Timothy, husband of Lois of Reading, 3 nephews, best friend Kathy Dobbins Estep of Myerstown and their son John Paul and grandson Dylan.
The family thanks the staff of the Lebanon VA Medical Center, especially the Hospice Unit for the compassionate care and treatment always provided with respect and dignity.
A graveside service will be held Friday, September 8, 2017 at 2:30 PM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Paul's memory to the Hospice Unit of the Lebanon VA Medical Center, 1700 S. Lincoln Ave, Lebanon, PA 17042.
