Le Effie Keperling, 87, of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Lancaster Regional Medical Center. She was the wife of the late John F. Keperling, Jr who passed away in 2004. Effie was born in Ironville on January 7, 1930, daughter of the late Joseph and Bertha Hogentogler Weaver.

Effie was a loving homemaker and enjoyed bingo, puzzle books and playing cards, especially 500 rummy.

Effie is survived by children, Roy E. Keperling, Nancy L., wife of James Kaufman, John F. Keperling, III, Donald E., husband of Diane Keperling, all of Lancaster, Thomas W., husband of Michelle Keperling of Strasburg, David Keperling of Hannibal, MO, Robert E., husband of Pam Keperling of Marietta, 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and sister Lillian Rutter of Columbia. She was preceded in death by son Harry W. "Billy" Keperling, grandson Daniel Kaufman, brothers Joseph Weaver, Roy Weaver, George H. "Pete" Weaver and sister Susan Bechtold.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Effie's funeral services on Monday, August 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM from Melanie B. Scheid Funeral Directors & Cremation Services, The Gundel Chapel, 3225 Main Street, Conestoga with Rev. Dr. Richard Rimert officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 AM to time of service. Interment will be made in Greenhill UM Cemetery, Conestoga,
