Joyce E. Trout, 73, of Willow Street Pike passed away at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy on Thursday morning, May 12, 2016. Born in Lancaster on April 3, 1943, Joyce was the only child of the late John E. and F. Elizabeth "Wib" Glick Irwin.
Joyce graduated from J.P. McCaskey High School. Joyce began her working career with RCA and then worked for over 35 years for Theo Schwalm, Inc. making watch dials. She then worked for Evergreen Assisted Living in housekeeping up until last year. Joyce loved to dance and would attend as many musical venues in downtown Lancaster as she could. She enjoyed gardening, scrapbooking, crafts, yard sales, knitting, crocheting and hiking with her twin grandchildren. She enjoyed participating in the United Way Day of Caring. She was a member of Boehms United Methodist Church, Willow Street.
Joyce will be missed by her daughter, Shelly R. Trout; son, Larry M., husband of Regina Trout; twin grandchildren, Alexander David and Natalie Kristine Trout, all of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by her twin children, Kevin Scott and Karen Ann Mattis.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Joyce's Memorial Service on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 3PM from the Melanie B. Scheid Funeral Directors & Cremation Services, The Gundel Chapel, 3225 Main Street, Conestoga, PA with Pastor Chris Eden officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 2 to 3PM on Wednesday. Private interment will be held at the convenience of her family.
