Gloria J. Keller, 81, formerly of Columbia passed away Sunday morning, July 10, 2016 at Conestoga View where she resided for the past year. Born in Lancaster on October 5, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Harry W. Smith, Sr. and Mildred A. Martin Smith Graham. She was married to Richard P. Keller who passed away in January of 2014.
Gloria worked for many years as a waitress at the former Midway Hotel. She retired from the Quality Inn in Centerville where she worked in Housekeeping. During her late teens and early 20's, Gloria enjoyed working as an assistant to a local magician. She loved to dance and listen to the oldies and country music. Gloria enjoyed watching her grandkids play sports and attending on a regular basis. She was a Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan.
Gloria is survived by her sons, Edgar B., husband of Tammy Rankin of New Providence, Joseph M., husband of Edith Rankin of Holtwood, William S., husband of Nancy Rankin of Conestoga; daughters, Deborah M., wife of Paul Conlin of Lancaster, Sharon L., wife of Eddie Miller of East Petersburg; her sister, Shirley Brenner of Willow Street and her brother, Harry W. Smith, Jr. of Willow Street. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Smith.
The family would like to express their thanks to the nurses and staff of the 4th floor at Conestoga View for the care and compassion shown to Gloria during her stay with them.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Gloria's funeral service on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 11AM from the Melanie B. Scheid Funeral Directors & Cremation Services, The Gundel Chapel, 3225 Main Street, Conestoga, PA. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 to 11AM. Interment will be held in the Conestoga Memorial Park Cemetery. Please omit flowers.
