Gary L. Rohrbach, 72, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2017. He was the husband of Jane Mason Rohrbach whom he married in June 1974. Gary was born in Allentown on August 23, 1945, son of the late Eddie P. and Elsie Groff Rohrbach.
He was a graduate of Kutztown and Lehigh Universities. Gary was a retired teacher and coach in the Cornwall Lebanon School District. He had coached the 1994 Tennis Sectional Champs. Gary was also the "Voice of the Falcons" as an announcer for over 40 years. Gary served for many years as the Chairman of the Cedar Crest High School Social Studies Department. He was proud to have been selected by students as a mentor for many years. He was a member of the Lebanon County Educational Honor Society. He was active in Youth Sports, served over 20 years as a member of the South Lebanon Twp. zoning board, member and secretary of the Mt. Gretna Men's Tennis Club. Gary was an avid Penn State Fan and loved to water ski. He loved time spent with family and friends. Gary's classic statement was, "It's all economic".
Gary in addition to his wife is survived by son, Michael, husband of Katherine Hoover Rohrbach of Palmyra, daughter Kathryn Rohrbach of Camp Hill, granddaughters Estella Frances Rohrbach, Annalee Elizabeth Rohrbach and brother Edwin, husband of Rita Rohrbach of Bethlehem.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Gary's Prayer service on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 8:00 PM from Porterfield-Scheid Funeral Directors & Cremation Services, Ltd., 890 Isabel Dr., Lebanon. Friends will be received at the funeral home Wednesday 5:00 PM to time of the prayer service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Gretna Men's Tennis Club, P.O. Box 355, Mt. Gretna, PA 17064.
