Reverend Daniel Mercado, 82, went home with the Lord on June 11, 2017 at the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in Philadelphia PA. Born in Ponce, PR he was the son of the late Braulio Mercado and Alejandra Arroyo. He was married to Sol M. Mercado for 17 years.
Mercado served in the US Army during the Korean War. He dedicated his life to the Lord in 1975 and devoted his life to Pastoring since 1982. He was a Missionary, Evangelist, Clergy and Regional Bishop for the Assembly of Christian Churches. Mercado was instrumental in starting three churches in Lancaster and one in Dunkirk, NY. He was currently the Pastor of Mision del Golgota (The Calvary Mission), Lancaster.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by six daughters; Byrma Mercado, PA., Nancy Mercado, NM., Sonia Mercado, NY., Gina Solis, PA., Dana Mercado, PA., Sol G. Mercado, PA. three sons; Daniel Mercado, PA., Ricardo Mercado, GA., Ezequiel Mercado, PA., 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his daughter Isabel "Evie" Santiago.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Pastor Mercado's services from Iglesia Puerta de Refugio, 220 W. King Street, Lancaster, PA 17603 on Friday, June 16, 2017 from 7 to 10PM, Saturday, June 17, 2017 from 12 to 10PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 19, 2017 at 9AM from the Porterfield-Scheid Funeral Directors & Cremation Services, 890 Isabel Drive, Lebanon, PA 17042 with Pastor Manuel Roman officiating.
