Claire L. McLain, 69, of Lancaster passed away Tuesday morning, February 28, 2017 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born on September 27, 1947 in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Frank X. McLain and the late Jean Newswanger McLain.
Claire graduated from Manheim Township High School in 1965. After graduation, she worked for Lancaster General Hospital as a nurses' aid and Kerr Glass as a bookkeeper. She devoted over 30 years as a buyer for Boscov's Department Stores. Her last employment was with Ephrata Community Hospital. Claire loved to go to Cape May, NJ. She enjoyed crafts and doing the NY Times Crossword Puzzles. Claire was an excellent cook and seamstress.
Claire is survived by her father, Frank of Lancaster; sister, Andrea, wife of Mark Stephens of Lititz; nephew, Troy Hertzog of Womelsdorf, who she centered her life around when he was a young boy; grand nephew, Luke; along with her best friends, Fern Hohn and her daughter, Lisa Peters, both of Lancaster and Stacy Herr of Lititz.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Claire's graveside services on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 2PM from the Middle Octorara Presbyterian Cemetery, 1199 Valley Road, Quarryville, PA with Rev.
