Charles (Chuck) J. Andris, 86, of Quakertown, formerly of Philadelphia, beloved husband of Fran (Frances Karkowski) for 66 years, passed away Monday, June 13, 2016 at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. Chuck was born in Philadelphia on March 10, 1930, son of the late Joseph and Anna McLoughlin Andris.
He played football for Roman Catholic on the 1947 Philadelphia city champion team and for the Marine Corp at Camp Lejuene . Chuck's varied careers included lineman for Philadelphia Electric, a Sergeant for the DOD, a thoroughbred horse trainer and owner of MedCart Services that he ran until his illness in March. He was a member of Church of St. Isidores' RC Church and an active member of the Quakertown Moose Lodge and American Legion where he was Grand Marshall of the Memorial Day Parade.
In addition to his wife, "Pop" is survived by his sons, Chuck, of MA, Ronald, husband of Pamela, GA, his daughter Susan, wife of Gregg Coulton, Lancaster, 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, brothers, William, of Cherry Hill, NJ, Paul, husband of Florence, Philadelphia and sister Patricia, wife of John Walsh, Norristown. He was preceded in death by daughter Denise M. Bird.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Chuck's Memorial Mass on Saturday, June 25, 2016 with receiving at 1:00PM followed by a mass at 2:00PM at the Church of St. Isidore RC Church, 2445 W. Pumping Station Rd, Quakertown, PA 18951. In lieu of flowers please send donations to St Isadore's.
