Tribute & Message From The Family


Jean A. Greeninger, 76, of Lebanon, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at the Lebanon Wellspan Good Samaritan Hospital. She was the wife of Bennett G. Greeninger to whom she was married for 57 years. Jean was born in Quentin on August 5, 1941, daughter of the late Harvey and Stella Kline Reist.

Jean was a graduate of Cornwall High School Class of 1959. She had been employed by DiAnn Underwear, Community Homes of Lebanon Valley and retired from Butler Manufacturing. She was a member of Zion of Iona United Methodist Church. Jean was very active with I.L.G.W.U., Lebanon Labor Council and the former Quentin Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. She was a founder and Queen of the Snitz Creek Red Hats. She enjoyed birds, flowers and camping, especially at the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon.

In addition to her husband, Ben, Jean is survived by her daughter, Robin Greeninger of Lebanon; son, Todd husband of Kelly Greeninger of Dallas, TX; grandson Andrew Greeninger of Jacksonville, FL; great granddaughter Lorraine Koegl of Dallas, TX and brother Roy Reist of Lebanon. She was preceded in death by her brother Warren Reist.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Jean's funeral service on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 11:00 AM from Porterfield-Scheid Funeral Directors & Cremation Services, 890 Isabel Dr., Lebanon, PA 17042 (next to Quentin Circle) with Chaplain Doug Etter, Col. PNG officiating. A viewing will be held Wednesday beginning at 9:30 AM to time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be made in Iona UM Cemetery.

MY DEEPEST CONDOLENCES TO UNCLE BEN AND MY COUSINS ROBIN AND TODD. I'M SO VERY SORRY THAT I WAS NOT ABLE TO MAKE IT TO THE SERVICES BUT MY HEALTH IS HOLDING ME BACK. I MISS OUR FAMILY REUNIONS FROM YEARS AGO. IT IS A SAD SHAME THAT OUR FAMILY DOESN'T GET TOGETHER ANY MORE. I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER AUNT JEAN. I have very fond memories of working with Jean at Butler. We had a lot of fun and ran a lot of drawings. Jean was a great person and she will be missed by everyone who knew her. My thoughts and prayers are with her and with all of you.
